An outdoor apparel manufacturer needed a large batch of customized waterproof zippers for a new production order covering jackets, outdoor coats, and functional garments. The customer required two zipper structures: 16 cm closed-end zippers for pockets and functional openings, and 70 cm open-end zippers for jacket front openings.

The main challenge was that the order included multiple colors and strict consistency requirements. The customer requested No.7 nylon waterproof TPU zippers, with auto-lock decorative sliders, matching-color pullers, and accurate dyeing according to the provided color card. Colors included Black, White, Raw White, Dark Blue, Gray, Greige, and Beige. The zippers needed to match the garment fabric closely, especially for dark blue and neutral colors, where color deviation could affect the final garment appearance.

In addition to product customization, the customer also had detailed packaging requirements. The zippers had to be packed in strong transparent polybags and then into woven bags. Each inner bag needed a printed label showing item name, color number, size, and quantity. The required label size was 7 cm x 5 cm, and each inner bag contained 100 pieces. The customer emphasized that the zipper tape must be flat, the zipper must pull smoothly, the slider and teeth must fit well, and the product weight and quality must meet production standards.

Product Recommendation

Based on the customer's application scenario and quality requirements, we recommended a No.7 Nylon TPU Waterproof Zipper with an auto-lock slider and customized puller.

This zipper type is especially suitable for outdoor apparel because the TPU-coated surface improves water resistance while maintaining a clean and modern appearance. Compared with ordinary nylon zippers, TPU waterproof zippers provide better protection against light rain, moisture, and outdoor environments. The No.7 size offers stronger durability than smaller zippers, making it ideal for jackets, coats, outdoor pockets, and high-frequency opening areas.

For the 16 cm closed-end zipper, we supplied customized colors including Black, White, Raw White, and Dark Blue. These were mainly used for pocket openings and smaller functional parts. For the 70 cm open-end zipper, we supplied Black, White, Raw White, Gray, Dark Blue, Greige, and Beige, suitable for front openings of jackets and coats.

To support smooth garment production, we arranged pre-production samples before mass production. The customer confirmed the zipper structure, color matching, slider style, and puller appearance before the bulk order started. During production, we controlled tape flatness, coating surface quality, zipper smoothness, slider locking function, and color accuracy. Each batch was inspected before packing to reduce production risk for the customer.

The customer was satisfied with our customization capability and production control. They especially appreciated that the zipper colors were accurate and consistent across different batches, helping them match the zippers with their garment fabrics more efficiently.

The customer also commented that the zipper opening and closing performance was smooth, the slider worked reliably, and the TPU surface looked clean and professional on finished outdoor garments. The clear inner labels and organized packaging helped their warehouse and production team identify different sizes and colors quickly, improving production efficiency.

Through this project, we demonstrated our ability to manage multi-color, multi-size zipper customization for apparel manufacturers, while meeting detailed packaging and quality requirements. The customer expressed willingness to continue cooperation for future outdoor jacket and functional apparel orders.
